In 2014, Vivad took the initiative to install a 100 kW rooftop solar system at our Sydney Road facility. This investment was made well before the Victorian Government's Solar for Business Program was introduced in 2020 and before the broader surge in rooftop solar adoption across Victoria.

Reducing environmental impact starts with examining our own operations.
That's why Vivad invested in solar energy to help power our production facilities. By generating renewable electricity onsite, we're reducing reliance on traditional energy sources and taking practical steps towards lowering emissions.
Sustainability isn't achieved through a single project, it's built through ongoing improvements that deliver measurable results over time.
Over the last 12 months, our solar system exported 6,637 kWh of clean renewable energy back to the grid, helping avoid an estimated 5.4 tonnes of CO₂-e emissions by displacing electricity generated from fossil fuels.
While it's just one part of our sustainability journey, it's a meaningful step towards reducing our environmental footprint and contributing to a more sustainable future.

Since installation in 2014, our 100 kW solar system has exported almost 80,000 kWh of renewable electricity to the grid, helping avoid an estimated 65 tonnes of carbon emissions.
That's equivalent to taking around 14 passenger vehicles off the road for a year, while contributing clean energy back into the community and reducing reliance on fossil fuel generation.
While the energy exported to the grid highlights the system's contribution to the broader community, the greatest benefit comes from the renewable electricity used onsite, helping reduce reliance on grid power and lower operating costs.Together with thousands of dollars in value returned through surplus energy exports, the system continues to demonstrate how a well-designed solar investment can deliver lasting financial and environmental benefits more than a decade after installation.
At Vivad, we believe sustainability is built through practical action. Investments like solar energy not only help reduce operating costs but also support a cleaner energy future for the communities in which we live and work.
